A Multiplayer racing game - there is no single player mode. 3D Race is a game that goes incredibly fast, and the turning is sharp. However, once you start a race, you have to finish it. There is 6 courses.

Aral Superplus
You race against a computer-controlled car on a never-ending racing track. Aral Superplus has both nice graphics and sounds although I find the game somewhat monotonous after a while. If your speed is too high through the curves your car will slide off the track (use left mouse key to control the speed). One neat feature in the gameplay is the lighting from the sky that will hit your car if you drive too slow. You have 90 secs to complete the race. If you survive, then it will start over with more laps for higher scores. There is a highscore table on the game's homepage (#1 player has completed over 5,000 laps!!). Although this game is in German it's very easy to play.

Billabong Racers
Billabong Racers is neat car racing game with funny animal characters as drivers. Before you can partake in the actual race, you need to pass the driving school. The competition consists of 4 tracks and 3 different classes (engine size). You will triumph if you manage to be amongst the top4 cars and collect 20 shrooms in each race. It's noteworthy that your car is equipped with a weapon! Unfortunately the computer-generated cars are lousy drivers and they don't provide much competitive excitement.

Car Warriors
This game is unique in that its two player mode is totally different from its one player mode. In two player mode, you race against a friend in a top view mode, collecting hedgehogs to shoot as weapons and trying to make lots of laps. In one player mode, there are enemy cars trying to kill you and tohey can quickly succeed with weapons and crashes. Don't go to slow or they will get too far ahead of you and you will lose. Each level has infinite tries so you'll never get frustrated by starting over, but it is incredible easy to die if you are so unfortunate as to hit a car or a wreck. Also, some cars are equipped with guns, but it takes a few hits to be killed. There are even energy meters to check the remaining armor level of you and your enemies. The start of each level provides a description of your enemies, and which ones you must kill. Unfortunately, there are only two levels.

Carwar
Carwar was once a great game at the time of its release (1990) - with weapons and all. Of course, nowadays you would look at Carwar differently. If you are one of those gamers who used to play those CGA graphics game with great passion then you may enjoy to revive the memories with Carwar.
NOTE: The game runs too fast with today's CPU speed. You would need to slow down your CPU first, which you can do with utilities like "Turbo". More information about Turbo at the gamehippo.com frontpage. Setting the CPU speed at 40% worked pretty good on at 400MHz CPU Computer.
