Runner
Runner is a shooting game where you move around and shoot down the enimies (shaped as "blobs"). If you get too close to them you will be destroyed. The graphics are fairly simple. You control your character using all for arrow keys. The up and down arrow keys allow you to move and turn faster.
Satellite Defence
Satellite Defence gets off to a bad start by billing itself as an Asteroids clone. The only thing the game actually has in common with Asteroids is that you shoot rocks. In terms of game play, this title is actually much closer to Missile Command.
The scenario is simple: As a little ship orbiting a planet, you must blast the rocks hurtling toward your globe. Miss too many of them, and your planet is destroyed, which ends the game. You have two weapons at your disposal, a standard blaster with unlimited ammunition and a limited supply of guided missiles.
Your task really isn't terribly difficult. I actually found it extremely hard to lose this game. The real issue is that there is no limit to the number of blaster shots you can have on the screen. It is quite easy to just blanket the play field with shots and clear each stage in a matter of seconds. The secondary, and supposedly better, guided missiles are nearly useless when compared to the awesome power of your unlimited blaster.
Missile Command was fun because you had a limited amount of ammo. In later stages, you had to pull of some really tricky shots just to survive. Satellite Defence needs to learn from this and slap some restrictions on the player's firepower. As it is now, it's just no fun to play. If you absolutely need to have every Missile Command clone out there, by all means download it. Otherwise, stay away.
Saucer Attack 2
This game has great 3-d style graphics and cool weapons. It was almost rated an eight. However, closing the program caused it to load a new page into my browser (the Positech homepage), resetting all of the information I had typed into this game's review.

SDLBlock
Empowered by openGL graphics, this tetris variant exhibits a nicely redesigned layout in 3D. With a top-down perspective, you drop the blocks to fill each layer just as in an ordinary 2D tetris game. Without a doubt this game has a cool 3D design. But sadly I find it very hard to play and to visualize the blocks in this 3D perspective - and even harder is to predetermine their final position as you drop them. So graphically SDLBlock is highly developed with sophisticated performance but with the flip side of the somewhat visually confusing perspective which can overpower the fun in the game.
